I have been taking pictures since my high school days. In short, that’s too many years ago to count (to clarify: Florida had no baseball teams back then). What started as simply taking skateboarding pictures of my friends evolved into a career. As a result, you can now scroll through some of my action photography and wildlife photography on Instagram.

Taking photographs requires an array of skills. Consequently, when photographing wildlife, the photographer has to know the conditions an animal desires, the perfect time of day, and subsequently where animals like to congregate. To take photographs of action sports, the photographer has to know the conditions an athlete desires, the perfect time of day, and – finally – where the athletes like to congregate. Yes, that’s right. The skills needed for action photography are likewise those for wildlife photography. Watching Out

I have spent the majority of my life surfing, windsurfing, mountain biking, trail running, and skateboarding. All of these sports keep me outside for hours at a time. Sometimes that means a good amount of time in seclusion – that is, just me and (depending on the spot) snakes, rabbits, tortoises, sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, stingrays, and birds of all kinds. It’s no surprise that as a result of these encounters I’ve become an avid animal lover. This is why my photography portfolio appears to be split, but in my eyes it’s all the same. Through action & wildlife photography I find beauty in what I love; being outside with nature.
