I spent a few hours trying to find sea birds at the beach. It was far too windy and after walking 3 miles I had to call it quits. With strong north winds, I decided to head to the 520 Slick and take some candid kiteboarding photography. The folks did not disappoint! I love seeing the array of skills. From total shredders to those that are just learning.
If you want your pictures taken and you see a photographer with a huge lens, you don’t have to get right up to me. Some of you were catching some nice air. If you’re right in front of me I was taking meer head shots. If you’re just learning a new trick, don’t shy away from the camera. I’m here for you. If you don’t land, you look awesome in the air. Remember, we all started somewhere. Keep up the improvement and your kites.
There was a big crowd at the 520 Slick this afternoon. Many kites were on the west side of the slick. Other riders were doing speed runs further south into the Banana River. Many drifted away and needed to be picked up by PWCs. A select few were showing their skills by the small pier where I was taking pictures. It was a beautiful day on the Nana.
Wind sports like kiteboarding are very different from surfing. You can’t blow up a location. There is no limit to the number of waves caught. The wind is infinite. Please, don’t say that I’m giving away your (not so) private sailing spot. Take a look! You can see random action sports photographs on Instagram.
