I was testing out a new large lens that I had previously added to my arsenal at the beach. While birds were scarce, the beachgoers were out in mass. It was a cool cloudless late weekend morning. My wife and I had just gone out for an amazing late breakfast at a cute little local restaurant beach-side and the camera was already packed in my truck. My wife is just happy sitting on the sand and I wanted to take some pictures. We compliment each other well that way.
Candid surf session photography at Satellite Beach
While I was primarily taking pictures of sea birds, there were a few surfers out on the small shin-high day. They were doing the best that anyone could do on a “flat” spring day. In the few minutes that I was on the beach, I was able to capture quite a few nice pictures of them surfing. If you’re one among the crowd or if you’re the only one out, there’s nothing like a nice day in the water.
About Candid Surf Sessions
For surf sessions, I never mention the exact location of surf spots. The date and city should be enough to give you a hint of where I was shooting. If you were there, you know where I was.
